It's time. All right. Um, for those wondering kind of what we're looking at there. Caden Proctor, uh, all, everything tackle, uh, that, uh, is local product from Southeast Polk High School. Um, had given a commitment to Iowa back in June, verbally, um, here over the last couple weeks has been to University of Oregon, university of Iowa, and University of Alabama on visits, um, has her Twitter post today, uh, switched his, uh, commitment from Iowa to Alabama. His signing is tomorrow morning, uh, at Southeast Polk High School at 8 45, where he will, uh, it looks like sign his letter of intent with the University of Alabama Roll Tide. Uh, Abu Samma, who's the stud running back, who had six touchdowns in the state championship game, is fully expected to honor his commitment to Iowa State, uh, and sign his national letter of tent. Cole Ingle:don't blame him. Yeah. Uh, rumored million dollars a year. Um, definitely don't blame him. Rumor at Iowa, Iowa at one point was. two 50. So over four years, um, up to a million. And then with other things coming in, uh, it was looking like at the end of it they were gonna get him up to about 500 a year. So 2 million over. Um, everything that I've seen him post or heard is, um, it's just more ability to win National Championship. Obviously hired Alabama. A lot of considerations. And the biggest thing that like, I would hope that people take out of it, cuz there's gonna be a lot of, and there already even has been with just the rumors swirling over the last few days, money, um, pushback from the fans and everything like that. And this is probably a deeper conversation that we'll want to have as we see these things take place. But it's gonna be the impact of nil on fan bases who are directly now paying these kids because these are all alumni base or fan base programs. Swarm is the, what it's called at Iowa that are bringing these monies in. So these people are throwing their monies at these programs in order to pay these kids. You know, it's pay for play, whether they want to say it or not directly affects transfer portal. It directly affects fandom. Absolutely. Uh, the kids that are coming in. But you're going to see this more. And so the argument becomes, you know, are the fans in the right to be yelling at a 17 year old? For recommitting from a program or anything like that, whether it be over money or you know, family obligations or anything like that. Because I can do more with a million dollars at age 17 than I can with 250,000. I can do more with that at any age. So if I were to come to you with a contract that says, Hey, I'll pay a hundred thousand dollars a year, and then six months later after you tell me you're in, someone comes to you and says, Hey, I'll pay you$500,000 a year. What are you as a 25, 30, 35, 50 year old man or woman going to say, when I come to you and you are not in any way contracted to the first, it's pretty easy, other than you, you gave me your word, right? But now you're getting more money, but, and if you tell me you're leaving$400,000 on the table, get, I'm gonna call you. Yeah. Get, we are the no BS Goon Squad. Yeah. And you're full of shit. Yeah. And he said all of the right things as far as, it's not about money, it's about staying home, it's about feeling at home, da da da da da. And now it, all of a sudden, it's still not about money, but it's about winning national championships. And the thing is, between December and June, Iowa and Alabama haven't changed in their ability to win. Champ. I mean, it's still the same. So that's the blowback. Here's the thing. First of all, kid's, 17 years old. Second of all, he's got a, how many people in his ear? He's got people paying for flights to everywhere, all inclusive, everything at these campuses now, because it doesn't matter, it's snow holds bar. Yep. Uh, on the kids that they want to get. I mean, we're talking Nick Saban at in Reynolds, Iowa, telling where, what do we need to do? Where the hell's that? Right, right. Uh, what do we need to do to, to get you, uh, two weeks before signing day? Uh, you know, a week before that it was, uh, is it crystal ball? That's in Oregon? No, he went from Oregon to Miami. Suzanne, whoever's in Oregon. Now, same thing. Come get it. What do you need? What, what can we do to get you in here? Um, and money's seemingly about the same between Oregon and Alabama from everything I've heard. But it's like you've got so many people, adults that are hopefully have the best interest in mind, but we all know that that's not always the case. And many times is not because they're not the ones making the money. They're the ones with the dollar signs in their eyes. They're not the ones who have to perform or anything like that. So, um, empathy for the kid also, you hope he makes the best decision from them. And, and ultimately the transfer portal's open. Iowa's gonna have their arms wide open if he's not happy there in a year. So don't burn a bridge. Anywhere you can't, I mean, as a coaching staff, as a fan base,
Stoy Hall:like I, it'd be interesting to get some, some of our coaches on to ask this specific, specific spot. Are you always recruiting? Like, are you not, not recruiting the guys that you want? Even if they go play somewhere now you have to, you have to
Cole Ingle:at this point, right? Mm-hmm. And that's the tough, gotta be the toughest part from a coaching perspective, is if you're done with a guy and you want to voice that, you have to be at peace with ever

Cole Ingle:might, could be burning more than, I mean that's the whole point with burning a bridge too, is it's not just, it's the whole bridge. It's every piece of it. It's all the connections. Connections, the networks. And obviously social networks are as big as anything Yeah. In the world right now. So, but hey,

I just did this one cuz I was like impressed the fact that they're like, have you, no, I've never seen
Cole Ingle:this. This completely makes sense. A hundred percent does. So what you're seeing, I've never seen it. Yes. Three men, we passing drill. Um, but like, I'll, I'll try to explain from an offensive pos um, perspective why this is good. So what you're seeing here is, is just one lineman. He starts blocking a guy over the top and then is blocking a guy coming from the right guy, coming from the left. And the biggest thing this does is one, it's a great drill for keeping your feet moving at all times. Cuz as soon as an a lineman locks his feet in the ground is when he gets ran over and or juked out. Mm-hmm. Uh, the second thing is stunts are a huge thing in the nfl. Whether it be a linebacker, um, defense, a lineman stunt, or just a defensive lineman stunt in general. Uh, that's either gonna be blitz or stunt depending on which side of the balls or which positions are doing it. But basically it is, can I, can I redirect from one block to the other, either one guy to the other and, and engage in a forceful way. and I haven't seen a drill done better than that, so I'll let you kind of hit up from a defensive side, like
Stoy Hall:No, I mean, so from a defensive side, like these weaves, if you will, this is the stunts they're running. Mm-hmm. they're gonna be running stunts very closely like this. Now obviously we would run, it'd be cleaner and all of that, but it's still for an offensive guy, this fantastic job. I've never seen this drill and it makes so much sense. And a
Cole Ingle:stunt for those not exactly sure. What that is, is basically when a defensive lineman, and so like if a defensive end and a nose guard were to basically switch responsibilities, one were to go outside and the other were to go inside from where they line up to confuse the offensive lineman basically to get him to block someone that's not where, in his lane to open either a linebacker or defensive end or whatever it may be, to have a clear path at either running back or quarterback. So, um, that drill is, yeah, that's a, that's a great coaching drill. I absolutely love that.

Ref tells him to scoot up to be on the line of scrimmage. Um, cuz he is a little bit back there, which is correct. And so he scoots up and the ref and Terry McLaren's words tells him he's good. Um, and does not, is not shown. Telling him to scoot up more is not showing that he's off the line of scrimmage or anything like that. As refs would definitely indicate, um, on every play on the sideline. This is an interaction between, say that again, between receivers and referee. Every play
Stoy Hall:and sideline referees. So all I've seen in the comments for everyone that have watched this too Yep. Is the fact that it's not the rest job to get set or to, to line up correctly. Right. It is definitely part of their job and they, every

The optics are terrible there because the ref goes directly from telling him to go up to definitely telling him or what very much looks like him telling him he's okay to hand going directly to the flag before the ball is snapped. The only thing that happens on this play is that Heineke takes a shotgun snap, he hands it off to the running back, who runs on the end zone. McLaren does not move on the play. There is no reason for a flag unless you are looking for one and unless you are trying to do something in the detriment of a team, the Washington Commanders in this specific situation, I'm
